Cyanotype (Sun Prints) Workshop

Join the incredible Nicole and Carlos to explore the magic of Cyanotypes!

You'll learn how to use photosensitive chemicals to create striking blue and white botanical prints.

You'll know them as owners of the Yellow Bird Café, but you might not know that they are also talented artists! Their collaborative project Burn the Negatives began during the covid lockdown, and they have produced hundreds of stunning prints since.

With their help, you will learn how to prep your surface for exposure, then arrange a range of pressed flowers, leaves and grasses from the Field Shelter meadow onto your paper. You'll then expose your design to the sun to create a beautiful sharp design in striking blue and white.

No experience necessary! Just bring your curiosity and love of nature!

All materials and equipment is provided but please bring an apron or wear old clothes as you might get a little messy.

Please find more information and booking links on our web page:: https://fieldshelterarts.co.uk/tender-meadows/

This event is part of Tender Meadows - a series of affordable, accessible creative workshops for the people of Haltwhistle and its surrounding parishes, kindly subsidised by a grant from the Haltwhistle Community Shops Fund.
