The Road to Recovery: Gloucestershire’s conservation journey

Join us at Yate Heritage Centre for a fascinating talk from Marion Hill from Gloucestershire Archives exploring the county’s journey to protect nature. We’ll be looking at archive material which illustrates the evolution of this work from protection orders to national parks, nature reserves and beyond, finishing with a brief look at the latest thinking on caring for nature. This talk is being delivered as part of Gloucestershire Archives’ Green Pledge Project, a 2-year project made possible by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The project is researching, sharing and expanding the collections which tell the county’s environmental story.
