Contact Improvisation Class 2-3pm is open to all, beginners to experienced. The class will teach specific CI skills to enhance the Jam experience. These skills could include, developing sensory awareness, weight bearing, improvising, moving in/out of contact.
The Jam 3-4.30pm is an opportunity to practice the form with others, to experience the process, and learn/embody CI. This is an open space to move.
‘Contact Improvisation is a movement form based on the communication between two or more moving bodies that are in physical contact and their combined relationship to the physical laws that govern motion-gravity, momentum, and inertia. The form has been developing internationally since 1972 and it started from the exploration, research and inquiries of Steve Paxton.’
