SUP social is going on an adventure to Muckross Lake!
IMPORTANT - all paddlers must arrange and get their own permit for this paddle. We recommend everyone to get their permit on the day at 9am. You need to ring the ranger and arrange this yourselves on 064 6635215
IMPORTANT - to get your permit you must have washed your board in advance and have proof of the board being washed either a video recording or a reciept for powerwashed at a petrol station / garage, and bring the receipt for the powerwashing with you as proof that you have washed it. The nearest garage is
Hegarty’s Spar, on the Muckross Road a short distance beyond the Gleneagle Hotel (coming from Killarney town).

This lake is beautiful with plenty of caves to explore in the first section. So we are planning just to do the first part, but depending on the group we can do the whole lake with a stop at Dinnis cottage for a sandwich - so bring some cash/card. We will also have a picnic stop at the beach/island so bring a small snack.
Weather looks overcast and cool 10degrees Celcius.
We will meet for 9:30am in the carpark and get into the water for 10am. Depending on the group size and route we are aiming to finish at 2pm latest.
As usual everyone is welcome, bring your own gear and life jackets. Children must be accompanied by a guardian.
