The excitement of the Cy-Hawk rivalry is rolling into Coon Rapids on Tuesday, September 2, as WHO Channel 13’s RVTV tour stops downtown for a community-wide Cy-Hawk Tailgate Party. Everyone in the region is invited to join the fun, which will transform Main Street from 2nd to 7th Avenues into a vibrant hub of live entertainment, food, games, and Hawkeye vs. Cyclone spirit.
It All Starts at Noon
The day kicks off with fire trucks escorting the WHO RVTV team into town. The RV will take a celebratory lap through the CR-B school parking lot, where students will line the route, waving signs and cheering to welcome the RVTV crew. It’s a spirited start that brings students and the community together in true Cy-Hawk fashion.
Afternoon & Evening Fun for All
The action continues with a full lineup of activities, including:
• The 10th Annual New Way Ford Auto Show
• Live music from Neva Alden and Jordan Beem
• Kids’ inflatables and tailgate games
• Dunk tank featuring local celebrity targets
• CR Fire department kids’ water fights, face painting, mini-golf
• The fan-favorite Tailgate Survivor Challenge under the big tent
• Football skill challenges
• Local restaurants, bars, and food trucks serving up great eats and drinks in the beer garden
• Ultimate Fan Contest and Fight Song Sing-Off
Throughout the evening, the WHO Channel 13 RVTV crew will broadcast live from Main Street, featuring contests, interviews, and plenty of good-natured Cyclone-Hawkeye banter.

Who’s the Ultimate Fan?
Show off your team spirit at the Main Stage during the Ultimate Fan Contest & Fight Song Sing-Off! One Cyclone and one Hawkeye will be crowned Ultimate Fan based on their costume and spirit. Then, the whole crowd will split into Cy-Hawk teams to battle it out in an epic fight song sing-off. Come ready to cheer, sing, and claim bragging rights for your team!

Rev up your engines! The 10th Annual New Way Ford Auto Show shifts downtown as part of the RVTV festivities. WHO Channel 13 will broadcast live from the show, showcasing classic cars, vintage trucks, modern muscle, and custom builds.
