Prairie Voices - Wisconsin Philharmonic

Wisconsin composer William Neil, whose resplendent orchestration of Rachmaninov's β€œSuites For Two Pianos” began our 2023-24 season, here makes his own original debut, in a serene musical tribute to the beauty of the American prairie. Howard Hanson β€” our great American romantic, born in late 19th-century Nebraska, of Swedish stock β€” has always been best known by his Second, "Romantic" Symphony β€” where we'll be joined in the ranks by young musicians from Brookfield's high schools! And Alex Chambers-Ozasky β€” Madison-based cello star, and a first-desk cellist of our Maestro's La Crosse Symphony Orchestra β€” will cut his own romantic figure, in Robert Schumann's lyrical 19th-century masterpiece.
