New Albany multimedia artist Scott Scarboro will present a talk and slide show on his exhibition, Retro-Active-Vision, which is currently on view in our main galleries until October 18, 2025. The exhibition opened to the public on May 22nd and later included a musical performance by the artist.

Scarboro will take the opportunity to talk about his exhibition which features 35 years of work that has been arranged chronologically. For this showing, the artist has ”revisited and restored” several of his “old friends” that take the form of hybrid toys (some from the artist’s very childhood) that Scarboro has altered and repurposed. Many of these artworks are interactive and the public can play with some of the objects on view.

Also on display are many interactive “hand-glitched” videos of special performances and visual art projects that Scarboro has been involved with over the years. Currently, the artist has been engaged in creating unique musical instruments and experimenting with the sounds they produce.

This Lunch and Learn talk will be a great opportunity to hear a contemporary artist talk about his unique practice. We hope to see many of you on Tuesday, July 29th at noon for this stimulating talk.

Free and open to the public, but reservations are requested, let us know you're coming here: https://nafclibrary.libcal.com/event/14765383
