Weβre excited to host Kirk Doran Sensei (6th Dan) from Auckland Kendo Club for a weekend seminar at Logan Park High School.
Kirk Sensei is a former member of the New Zealand National Team, represented NZ at the 1997 World Kendo Championships in Japan (where he received a Fighting Spirit Award), and trained at the Kitamoto Summer Camp. He brings decades of experience and a deep understanding of both kihon and shiai-focused Kendo.
Over the weekend, Sensei will lead training sessions covering warm-ups, footwork, suburi, kihon, waza, sparring concepts, and shiai methods, with an emphasis on practical application and timing.
Schedule:
Saturday July 26 - 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (followed by dinner)
Sunday July 27 - 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
This seminar is free and open to all kendoka in bogu.
