The Hybrid Gallery presents
The Moon Remembers: Process Paintings by Mikalina Kirkpatrick.
Mikalina’s boldly colored, abstractly illustrative, often large-scale paintings have been described as “both profound and playful" and “deeply compelling work that energetically draws you in.”
Since 2021 Mikalina has been painting as part of a community of process painters where the emphasis is on process over product, and experience over end results. In this process, conditions are created, and individuals are facilitated in a community setting, to enter into states of intuitive creative flow, led by the wisdom of the body and the subconscious. Painters enter into the unknown and follow the energy to uncover and express their own unique connection to the universal creative force.
The Hybrid Gallery walls are filled to the brim with over twenty pieces of Mikalina’s work, selected from their collection for the first solo showing of their art.
If you’re interested in process art, check out Creativity Cafe events at the Hybrid, where Mikalina facilitates a low-stakes exploration of intuitive visual art, all supplies provided, in a welcoming all-ages group setting.
