Working With Actors

Join David Mort, Board Chair of LCFS, for a discussion on working with actors to create strong performances that better serve your story. David has over 20 years of experience as an actor/director with a focus on coaching and blocking actors to drive natural, honest performances. His approach to directing focuses heavily on creating a partnership between the director and actor so that their performance highlights the themes and ideas the director wants to tell, and at the same time makes actors feel at ease and fosters a creative environment, all while ensuring you stay on time and get the performance you want.

This two-hour class provides instruction on table work, rehearsal, blocking/pacing, coaching performances, and navigating hard to work with actors who are struggling to find the right performance. The class will look at examples of some of David’s films and discuss the process of getting the actors to the place he needed them to be. This is a practical class that will give you tools you can use right away to see improvement in working with actors.
