Music in the Parks: Minnesota Mandolin Orchestra

Since 1892, Music in the Parks has provided residents and families opportunities to gather and enjoy local music throughout the summer. Since its inception thousands of free concerts have taken place. Concerts are weekly and vary from classic rock, hip hop, international, funk and many more genres of music.

This week at Father Hennepin Bluffs Park we are hosting the Minnesota Mandolin Orchestra, a classical group. "We are a non-profit community orchestra performing around the Twin Cities since 1991. We have about 40 mandolin, mandola, mandocello, octave mandolin, guitar, and string bass players -- the largest mandolin orchestra in North America, by our count. We play a mix of classical, old-time, 20th-century popular, and world music. Our setlists always include some locally-composed music (MN and Iowa) as well as a Beatles tune." For cancellations due to weather please check our Facebook or Instagram pages for updates.
