Join the 7th Virginia Regiment as they reenact PH’s appointment to the 1st Virginia Regiment prior to his departure to take command in Williamsburg! Witness the festivities on Saturday, September 19th from 10am-4pm.
It is September 1775 and Virginia’s counties in accordance with the 3rd Virginia Convention’s instructions are recruiting to raise two regiments of regular troops. In Hanover at Scotchtown, men are gathering and drilling in preparation to march on Williamsburg. The 1st Virginia Regiment will be under the command of Colonel Patrick Henry while Colonel William Woodford will command the 2nd Virginia Regiment. Visit Scotchtown to be a part of this historic event!
