Join us for the next event in our Speaker Series: A Visit With “Hub Fans Bid Kid Adieu” John Updike’s classic account of Ted Williams’ final game at Fenway Park published in the October 22, 1960 issue of the New Yorker will be discussed by Brian Engelhardt, a local historian on a number of subjects including baseball. The presentation will review the events subject of the article - including Williams’ farewell home run, his career, as well as the components of his complex relationship with the Fenway fans- all examined by Updike in the piece.
