Free Public Skate: Unique Abilities on Ice

Unique Abilities on Ice is a special community event happening Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Printscape Arena in Southpointe. Inspired by the work of Wheeling author David George, this initiative highlights the power of ice sports to bring people together and create a sense of belonging for individuals of all abilities.
At the heart of this effort is the Southpointe Grizzlies Special Hockey team, one of only a few programs in the area dedicated to serving neurodivergent athletes and individuals with special needs.
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:
Free inclusive public skating event for people of ALL abilities
Rental skates and skate helpers included
Resource fair for families who have loved ones with Unique Abilities
Introduction of the Ice Buddies
Need to use an adaptive item such as a sled? Bring it along! Volunteers will be on the ice to assist skaters with Unique Abilities. Help us show how ice skating and hockey are for anyone!
