Saxophonist and composer Boney James blends his distinctive style in new ways with the release of Slow Burn. With a mix of jazz standards and fresh compositions, Boney James wishes to connect with the audience and bring a high-level contemporary jazz performance to the stage.

Originally a clarinet player, Boney James switched to saxophone when he was ten and never looked back. Since then, he has played with many formative artists such as Morris Day, The Isley Brothers, Bobby Caldwell, Randy Crawford, Teena Marie, and more. In 2003, Boney James became the sole producer of his music with the album Pure, sparking a solo career of studio albums lasting through the present day, racking up awards and top hits. With a mix of jazz, pop, and funk elements, Boney James has become one of the most influential jazz artists of the present day.
