Jennifaye was born and raised in South Carolina and has been practicing the art of basket weaving since 1990, a skill she learned from her aunt. She views sweetgrass basket sewing as a divine gift passed down through generations. Jennifaye’s work reflects her personal style and the rich cultural heritage behind this beautiful art form. In addition to basket weaving, Jennifaye also shares Gullah Geechee history through storytelling.
