Open Poetry Readings

Everyone is welcome to attend and listen or read poetry and join in related discussions. Meetings are on the second Saturday of every month, no sign up required.

The Garlicky Group of Poets has been hosted by the Gilroy Library since 1995. These monthly readings attract residents from throughout South County.

Ed Nauss founded the readings which are free and open to all, not just poets. “Procedures are relaxed, informal, providing equal opportunity for all,” he said. “There is never a ‘featured’ reader, nor is there any internal competition. Nobody gets ‘slammed.’”
