On Saturday, July 19, join Natalie Stephens from the Ocean Research & Conservation Association (ORCA) to learn how science and community collaboration are driving meaningful change in the Indian River Lagoon. ORCA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection and restoration of aquatic ecosystems through innovative technologies, science-based action, and community engagement.
This presentation will highlight ORCA's citizen science programs, including our Land to Sea Initiative and Pollution Mapping Citizen Science-projects that directly involve citizen scientists in identifying pollution hotspots, understanding the health of the Lagoon, and becoming engaged in land and water-based habitat restoration techniques. With a focus on actionable, local solutions, attendees will leave informed and inspired to become part of the effort to safeguard our shared waters.
