Beloit College Powerhouse Guided Tour

Powerhouse Director Tara Girard will be your guide for a 1 hr. tour of this spectacular conversion of a 1907 coal-burning power plant into a student center. See how architectural features and industrial equipment from the original structure was incorporated into this innovative center. The newly renovated powerplant is a 120,000-square-foot facility that features theater, classroom, and meeting spaces. There’s also a running track and 8-lane competition swimming pool.

The Powerhouse is a first-of-its-kind facility in the country - preserving a historical building while combining student life spaces and recreational facilities.
