Dear Singers,
I will be teaching a workshop series at California Jazz Conservatory on July 12 and 19 called "“How to Keep On Singing: Care and Conservation of the Maturing Voice”.
This two-part workshop explores both the science and lived experience of the aging voice, with particular focus on hormonal transitions such as perimenopause and menopause. Participants will examine the physiological changes that can affect vocal production, as well as the musical and emotional adaptations that support continued, joyful singing.
Session 1 focuses on understanding the aging voice, sharing personal experiences, and learning targeted vocal exercises.
Session 2 offers hands-on guidance, as participants apply these exercises to address individual vocal challenges within the context of their own repertoire.
