When a loved one with dementia is losing mental capacity, itβs common to experience profound grief. Ambiguous loss is a type of loss we feel when a person with dementia is physically here but may not be as emotionally or mentally present as they used to be. We might be overwhelmed by emotions, grief, and even guilt. Join us to learn about this unique form of loss and grief and how to cope with it.
Afterwards, stick around for the Century of Evening Bags display and take a walk down memory lane with a display of over 100 evening bags collected through the life of Abbie White. Find out more here: https://www.abbiewhitecollection.com/the-experience
The event is FREE, and lunch is provided free of charge to registered guests, thanks to our sponsors. Registration is required!
This program is part of the series: Let's Talk Aging: VOYCE Week. Join us for a week with VOYCE, where we will talk about all things aging, from understanding long-term care and estate planning to how to process grief when you have a loved one with Alzheimer's or dementia.
Downtown is busy with shopping, sporting events, restaurants, concerts, and the Central Library! We want to make it as easy as possible for you to get to us. If you are parking at a meter, the meters are monitored from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Free parking is available for Library customers at the lot at the corner of 15th Street and Olive - just one block west of Central Library. Please call 314-241-2288 to obtain the code to access the parking lot.
