Stanley Kipper Project grew out of a desire to play more intimate spaces with a condensedversion of Stanβs band, New Primitives. Stanley Kipper Project (SKP) features Stan on drums andvocals, Tom Peterson on bass, Andrew Wozniak on guitar. They play New Primitives favorites ina tighter groove, cover some favorites (Taj, Los Lobos, Ray Charles) and include music Stanplayed with previous musicians.While living in Los Angeles, Stan played, toured, or recorded with Minnie Riperton, The BeeGees, Joe Walsh, Bill Withers, former Eagle Randy Meisner, Jay Ferguson, Andrew Gold, KarlaBonoff, Melanie, and iterations of Gypsy. Bassist Peterson has a long history with NP, and playsin the salsa band Malamanya. Guitarist Wozniak plays in Mick Sterling shows and has been a NPmember for a long time.New Primitives has been a successful Minneapolis band since 2003, adding summer gigs in thePacific NW since 2023. Their latest album release was produced by Loud Folk Records out of N.Carolina. Titled Primitive Road, it has enjoyed national radio play and contains six originalsongs.
