Cars on The Rec - August 2025

The countdown starts for the August Cars on the Rec at The Eversdens Recreation Ground.
We had huge support for the July meet, with around 300 people saying they were either coming or were interested. Amazing support, especially given July was only our 4th meet. Unfortunately, the weather decided it was not going to give us the same support and dampened, literally, proceedings. We were still pleased to see around 30 vehicles, and their owners, brave the weather, many of which were new faces and included a vintage open top Ford. Hopefully, everyone still enjoyed the meet: there were certainly smiling faces and some great conversations going on.
My hope for August is that the weather is kinder and we are able to increase on the numbers we enjoyed for the June meeting, which was our largest to date and saw an eclectic mix of 50 vehicles from vintage to modern classic, exotic sports car to luxury saloon, and 2 wheels to 4. In our July meet I was really pleased to see a Reliant in the ranks, having grown up with my father and two older brothers all owning Reliants.
Is it reasonable to target 100 for August? Ambitious, but with your support, why not? 🤣
As I always say, we are informal, relaxed and friendly, so please take a drive, come and say hello and enjoy some refreshments.
