Woods Walking Walking Meditation #423

Woods Walking walking meditation is an ecumenical practice of open and spacious walking meditation.
We walk at a normal, relaxed pace with a focus on noticing what is around us.
We explore the experience of our innate spiritual gifts, the deep sensing and knowing that has re-expressed as religion, whatever the time or culture. We seek the prisca theologica, the threads of truth that tie all traditions together. In our hiking, we see that nature is a gentle teacher of these truths. Each of us has unique gifts to interpret and express them through our presence. We are enriched in this sharing.
We drink in the nature that thrives on these beautiful trails being present to that which surrounds us. And, rather than assigning values to things we let things communicate their own natural presence to us.
Then we are awash in the simplicity of beauty, wonder and joy.
We are immersed in a natural energy that meets our own--that is our own. This energy lifts us.
An important realization from these trails is that our humanity makes us spiritual and our spirituality makes us religious.
Admittedly, we are rarely silent, as those of us walking are sharing what we're experiencing and sensing -- even taking pictures of things that we notice -- things that make us stop and say "ah"! After the hike, the pictures remind us of our intuitive revelations with each step.
The walks are #free since everything we receive there comes without charge or expectation.
Be sure to click the discussion link at the top of this event page to see how we are inspired on these walks.
We'll see you at the trail entrance between the parking lots in Ault Park. Come walk with us on Sundays!
