Bach’s Mass in B minor is an awe-inspiring, massive work and one that is seldom performed. But on 31 August, Heidelberg Choral Society will present a Melbourne performance of this compelling and uplifting Mass. Commenced in 1733, composed over a 25-year period and finished in the very last years of Bach’s life, his Mass in B minor has been described as a ‘cathedral in sound’.
