HOLLIDAYSBURG – The Blair County Genealogical Society will meet at 7:00 pm Thursday, July 17th, 2025 at the Roller Hojeth Memorial Library, 431 Scotch Valley Rd Hollidaysburg, PA.
Our July Speaker is our current president, Jim Snyder Jr. He will be speaking about the Adam Holliday Land story.
Adam Holliday is known to be the founder of Hollidaysburg but things may not be as they seem. Jim has been separating fact from fiction about who really owned the land that is now Hollidaysburg.
Jim has spent all his life in the Hollidaysburg area. He retired from Norfolk Southern at Hollidaysburg in 2001 as a Supervisor of Materials and was a 4th generation railroader. He started genealogy as a hobby in 1983. He became a member of the Blair County Genealogical Society in 1985 and is the current President. He was a past member of the Freedom Twp. Historical Society, The Old-Greenfield Twp. Historical Society and is currently a member of Historic Hollidaysburg Inc. & Hollidaysburg Heritage Walking Tour.
The meeting is open and free to the public. Our building is handicap accessible. We invite you to join us!
