What does the workshop cover?

We are delighted that Nicole Akong who was one of the finalists in series six of the sewing bee has kindly allowed us to use her pattern for this great workshop. Morgan your tutor, worked closely with Nicole on this and other patterns in her collection.

This exciting workshop is to help sewists that are comfortable with using their over locker, but want to tackle making their first garment using it. We will be covering sizing and choosing the right size for you. How to sew jersey and stretch fabrics on your overlocker. Constructing all the main elements of a sweatshirt, including a neckband, sleeves and cuffs.

As part of the workshop, you will also receive an exclusive discount code to purchase the pattern, so you can print it at home and use it again and again to make the sweatshirt as many times as
you wish! Once you’ve made one, you will want one in every colour!

What’s included?

You will need – sweatshirt fabric, such as loop back jersey, sweatshirt jersey, jersey or fleece back jersey. Please also bring your overlocker and overlocker thread in the fabrics colour.

Someone who knows the basics of using their machine, or has completed our getting to know your overlocker course.

Our very own Morgan who is a very experienced dressmaker.

Other things you need to know

All workshops are run at LilyBoo, Lostwithiel on the upstairs floor. There is a steep flight of stairs up to the workshop area but once there you will have everything you need, from a small kitchen for tea and coffee along with a bathroom. The workshops at LilyBoo have bought together people for a chat, to learn something new and there is always lots of laughter.
