The Soil that Feeds Us Diorama Contest

Have you ever thought about the soil in our world? If not, now is the time to do so! We need to rethink how we produce food in our country as current agricultural practices are depleting the nutrients in our soil which means less nutrients are in our food that our body needs to stay strong and healthy!
Join our effort to raise awareness and take some time to read a book or view a documentary about soil, best farm practices, composting or the living creatures that rely on our soil for habitat.
Registration will open and contest guidelines made available on the link below and at the Burke Centre library on July 12th!. The contest is open to four age categories: preschool (family), primary grades, upper elementary grades, and secondary grades. The exhibit of dioramas and public voting will take place at the library on July 26th. A winner for each age group will be announced and a $50.00 gift card awarded.
A complimentary vote will be awarded to anyone who writes a poem to accompany their entry.
Prizes sponsored by the Friends of Burke Centre Library.
