The CCDC Book Club is currently reading The 1619 Project by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones. As the creator of this groundbreaking initiative from The New York Times Magazine, Hannah-Jones reexamines American history by centering the legacy of slavery and the contributions of Black Americans. A MacArthur βGeniusβ Grant recipient, she is also the founder of the Center for Journalism and Democracy at Howard University.
