Elements of Value with Andrea Thompson

Join artist and educator Andrea Thompson for a dynamic two-hour workshop focused on the element of value. Participants will explore the full range of drawing pencils and learn how to use them effectively through guided, hands-on exercises. Discover how to transform simple shapes into three-dimensional forms using shading techniques, and experiment with mark-making methods like hatching, cross-hatching, and stippling to create tonal depth. The session also includes observational drawing practices such as blind contour sketching, continuous line drawing, and value studies.
