Chestnuts and Pearls Art Gallery and Antiques, located at 157 E Main, New Albany, IN, is pleased to announce the upcoming art Exhibition, What’s Happening, with works by 18 local artist from both sides of the river.

The Subject matter of the art includes global or social issues to current events, or “What’s Happening .” The exhibition runs July 17 - August 30, with the
Artist opening reception Saturday, July 19, 1-3. The reception is free and the public is invited to attend and support the artist and the gallery by viewing the art and enjoying refreshments.

The Last Tree”
Sculpture – Foraged ochres and charred wood mixed with walnut oil, plant-based gesso on scrap cardboard, scrap metal stand
41” x 3” 2025 by Karen Boone who says, “Imagine if this truly was the last tree, it would be so precious we would all stand around it to express our remorse and shortsightedness. But most trees are simply a commodity, and we do not give them a second thought.”

What’s Happening runs through August 30, viewing hours are Thursday noon-4, Fridays 1-5, Saturdays 10-3:30, or by special appointment.
