The ceilidh on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the Irish Cultural Centre, 582 North River Road, with the award-
winning Island folk music group Fiddlers’ Sons, features Eddy Quinn, John B. Webster with Keelin Wedge
and Fiona MacCorquodale.
The event includes a 50/50 draw and complimentary “Tea and Treats” at intermission. The Hall is air-
conditioned and licensed. Note: the elevator is currently out of service. Doors open at 6:30, show starts
at 7:30. Tickets are available at Locarius or at the door. $20 adults and $5 (under 12).
Eddy, the lead vocalist, also plays guitar and Bodhran. He has released two solo albums for which he has
received four PEI Music Awards. In 2017 the Fiddlers’ Sons marked the anniversary of twenty years in
the music business with the release of a compilation album of their most requested songs. The album is
titled “Fiddlers' Sons: The Best of Twenty Years” contains 22 selections that explore Island life and its
people.
John B. Webster is the group’s lead guitarist and back up vocalist. He grew up on the Station Road in
Cardigan. Webster’s father, Jackie, was a fiddle player and his grandfather, Jack, had a band called “Jack
Webster’s Orchestra” which played all over King’s County. Webster met Eddy Quinn at guitar lessons in
Lorne Valley and the rest is history. In addition to Webster’s singing and playing he has written a number
of songs on the five CD’s Fiddlers' Sons has released over the years.
Keelin Wedge, an award-winning recording artist and multi-instrumentalist, is also gifted with an
amazing voice. Quinn says, "She sings like an angel.” Audiences are wowed by the power of Keelin's
beautiful voice and fiddle playing.
Fiona MacCorquodale is a local musician who has been playing traditional fiddle music at ceilidhs and
other events across the Island for over a decade. She has recently crossed genres with the local country
bands “Brooke & Brad” and “Quittin’ Time”. MacCorquodale will be sharing some lively tunes and
accompanying the folk songs in the Fiddlers' Sons repertoire.
