Join fellow CineCentral creatives at a potluck picnic to launch this year’s Mobile Movie Challenge!
Monday, August 11, 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.
Picnic Shelter, Bowen Park — next to the gravel parking lot off Mills Road, near the river.
🎬 Launch of the CineCentral 2025 Mobile Minute Movie Challenge
We will:
Watch the video launch for this year’s challenge & get the secret key phrase — a required element that must appear in each submitted film (either spoken, written, or shown in some way)
Discuss the event, which is a great starter competition for filmmakers of all levels — all you need is a phone, tablet, or other mobile device to film your one-minute entry
Learn how to edit and submit your film — entries can be edited on your computer or device, and submitted directly to the coordinators
Celebrate past entries and screen examples for inspiration
Share project ideas, meet collaborators, and ask questions
🎥 Selected entries will be broadcast on RogersTV and featured on CineCentral’s Facebook pages.
🏆 The winner will be chosen by popular vote during the broadcast premiere!
📅 Entries must be submitted by midnight on September 30th.
🥗 It’s a potluck!
Bring food to share — enough so no one goes hungry. Come hungry, leave inspired.
Whether you’re filming, helping, or just curious — all are welcome.
