Speers Historic Dig

The Friends of Speer are hosting a Historic Dig where we will be digging down and lifting up fallen and/or buried headstones.
The last one was discovered by accident when we were digging to place borders around a plot. What we thought was a foot stone for years because only the top 2 inches was visible was actually the headstone of Thomas Stewardson who had passed away at the age of 4 and a half in 1868. There are many more headstones like Thomas’s waiting to be rediscovered and we need your help to get it done.
All necessary tools will be provided and we suggest to come dressed to get dirty!
We look forward to seeing you on what could be a historical day!!
