Get ready to unleash your inner Shakespeare or your best Eminem! The ROC in Council is hosting an "Open Mic Night" at the Council Valley Free Public Library - Gazebo on August 9th, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Yes, you read that right—it's a poetry showdown and rap battle rolled into one glorious, family-friendly, recovery-friendly extravaganza!

What to Expect:
Poetry that Rhymes: Whether you’re a sonnet specialist or a haiku hero, bring your best verses and prepare to wow the crowd!

Freestyle Rap: Got bars? Spit them out and show us what you’ve got! Just remember, “Yo mama” jokes are encouraged but not required!

Family Fun: Bring the kiddos! They’ll love the creativity, and who knows, they might just steal the show with a spontaneous interpretive dance!

Why You Should Attend:
Support Local Talent: This is your chance to cheer on your neighbors and maybe even discover the next big thing in the poetry or rap world!

Free Entertainment: It’s cheaper than a movie ticket, and you won’t have to sit through any awkward love scenes!

Good Vibes Only: Join a community that celebrates creativity and recovery—because laughter and art are the best medicines!

So grab your friends, your family, and your best rhymes, and join us for an afternoon of laughter, creativity, and maybe a few surprises! Who knows, you might even leave with a new career as a spoken word artist—or at least a funny story to tell!
