Full Moon Sweat Lodge

Dearest Sisters and Brothers

The Full Moon in August is also known as the Blackberry Moon, (Datkaagmini Giizis) in the Ojibwe nation. Blackberry is known as one of the first plants put on Mother Earth, and its purpose is to protect the Sacred Circle of life by allowing us to recognize and understand the teachings that come from the Spirit World. Blackberries in ancient times formed part of the Native American staple diet in summer and they cared enough about this generous plant to name a moon after it. Deep gratitude to our Mother Earth, for she gives us all that we need for life. She continues to care for us as she has from the beginning of time.

The Full Moon embodies a moment of power, where you may take in this energy, giving you the opportunity to bring change and transformation into your life. Being in Ceremony is a way to do this, to sift through your thoughts and feelings, to clearly see your intentions.
