DON'T ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE SCAMMED

The Sneads Police Department will be hosting a FREE class on How to Avoid Being Scammed or Defrauded, Saturday, July 26th from 1:30-3:30 pm at the Sneads Assembly of God Church 2062 River Rd.
Recently the Police Department received two calls recently where family members of an arrested person were contacted shortly after the arrest. On one occasion the caller advised the family member that the arrested person could be released on a leg monitor, but there was a $500 monitoring fee. The second incident involved someone posing as a U.S. Marshal with a caller I.D. that indicated the same.
At No time will ANY Law Enforcement agency contact a person or their family directly and request money to resolve a warrant or for any such services. Items that will be covered in the seminar include grandparent scams, romantic interest scams, toll violation scams, how Artificial Intelligence is used in scams, banking scams, warrant scams, and much more. Our speaker has 30+ years in Law Enforcement and is a subject matter expert. Please mark your calendar and make plans to attend.
