Tryon’s most popular music series—continues its 25th season July 11 with Reedy River String Band. Hailing from Greenville, SC and taking the Southeast music scene by storm, Reedy River String Band plays foot-stompin’ Appalachian roots music in three-part harmony, infused with rock ‘n roll. All three band members are veterans of the Upstate music scene: Sterling Waite, playing fiddle, mandolin and harmonica; Rush Morgan on guitar; and Mark Dye on bass. Fete Greenville Magazine writes of the band’s self-titled EP, “With influences rooted in bluegrass, the album resides in the “newgrass” or indie bluegrass space and tells stories of love, loss, adventure, and comradery.” More information on each show— including performers bios and photos—can be found at www.summertracks.com. All shows begin at 7 p.m. In case of rain, concerts move across the street inside Tryon Fire Dept. Lite bites, desserts and soft drinks are sold onsite by Huckleberry’s June 6, July 11, August 22 and Chef Sharone on June 20, July 25, August 8. Alcohol consumption is allowed in the park, but alcohol is not for sale.
