Weekend at Woolmers: Voice & Violin | Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra

Let piano, violin and voice take you on an eclectic journey through Norwegian folk, Spanish music and Hebrew melodies.
We have selected three outstanding chamber players to kick off our wonderful weekend of music in Woolmers Estate, and they will perform an eclectic program of works from around the world.
Folk melodies are shared through generations, and this spirit shines in Grieg’s sonata, inspired by the traditions of his Norwegian homeland. Ravel, who was a lover of Spanish music, would have delighted in this program that features four popular songs from Manuel de Falla, while Hebrew melodies ring through Ravel’s own Kaddish.
Andrea Lam is one of Australia’s most sought-after pianists, and our Woolmers weekend marks her big return to the TSO after her solo performance in 2022.
Our richly diverse program also includes a suite from Villa-Lobos – an artist who was passionate about Brazilian folk music and classical composition alike.
This concert is part of our Music at Woolmers Series.
