Pictograph Cave State Park, in partnership with the Yellowstone Valley Astronomy Association (YVAA), is hosting three night sky viewing events at the park throughout the summer. The free astronomy events will be held Saturday, June 21, July 19, and Aug. 23. Each event will begin at 8:30 p.m. and conclude by midnight.
YVAA club members will share their knowledge of the south-central Montana sky and provide telescopes and other viewing instruments to observe stars, planets and celestial bodies.
These events will be held in the parkβs parking area. Broader access to the park will not be available during the events, including trails. Reservations are not required for these events. Participants should bring blankets or camp chairs for seating and flashlights.
