LEVEL 3 AWARD IN EMERGENCY PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID

At our Training Centre in Westhill.

Course Aim:
This Paediatric First Aid qualification is design for workers caring for children in the absence of their parents.

This qualification indicates an individual can undertake the role of the first aider in a position that has the responsibility of caring for infants and children. It may also have been identified as necessary by a workplace risk assessment.

The qualification will benefit all who spend time in the early year’s environment and with pre-puberty children.

Course Content:

The role of the first aider

Effective Casualty Communication

Contents of First Aid box & how to avoid cross infection.

Assessing the situation using the Primary Survey and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency to either an baby or child.

Administer First Aid to a casualty who are unconscious, using the recovery position, seizures, requiring CPR & use of AED, are choking, are wounded or bleeding, are in shock, have minor conditions.

All learners will receive a full colour Paediatric First Aid Manual. Tea, coffee, biscuits, water & lunch will be provided.
