Theme: Tantric Shibari Ritual and Ceremony
The workshop includes:
-Introducing the elements of tantric rituals
-Learning Shibari binding techniques
- Emotional and physical safety
- Tantric Shibari rituals with each other, including role reversal
- Handout
Shibari is the ancient Japanese art of bondage. Rituals and ceremonies have a huge impact on the energy and intention of a session. With tools, we can create a setting where authentic connection can unfold. We explore the symbolic and ceremonial aspects of rope bondage. Shibari can have very healing properties, using rope as a tool for emotional release, energy cleansing, and personal transformation. Tantric elements help us to get in tune with ourselves connect to others from a place of authenticity.
After learning the essential shibari knots, there will be room to experiment and hold ritualistic shibari sessions for each other in a guided container. It will be with clothes on and without involving sexuality.
If you have Shibari ropes, please bring them along. For those who don't, we will provide ropes to borrow or buy.
You can come on your own or already with a partner you would like to share this experience with. No previous experience is required.
