The Nine Ton Peanut Smugglers
Celebrating 20 years of musical mayhem, Oxfordshire-based The Nine Ton Peanuts play a mix of old school ska, Jamaican boogie, rhythm ‘n blues, soul, rocksteady and reggae. Fronted by Sir Bald Diddley, whose music has also recently featured in TV’s 'Stranger Things', the band have supported legends such as The Skatalites and Toots and the Maytals, and performed across the UK (100 Club, Jazz Café and more) and Europe.
Championed by many, including Dave Edwards (Trojan box set compiler), Gaz Mayal and Steve Lamaq, DJ Smiler (Rude News) describes them as the best, most authentic ska ever played by white men - get your dancing shoes ready! New single 'Skaramanga/Rum An' Ting' and second album ‘Pieces of Eight’ out now.
The SpiraliteS
Oxford's favourite, liveliest ska band the Spiralites bring you barn-storming ska anthems and tantalising reggae naughtiness with a squeeze of Beatles! Playing rocksteady, ska and reggae standards and originals, lace up your docs and grab a rum – it’s time to get stomping! New track 'Fell for a Lie' is out now, recorded with Joshua Rigal at Forge Studio and featuring their lovely horse 'Selassie' contributing on keyboards (allegedly).
