What is Death Cafe?
Sociologist, Bernard Crettaz started the very first "Cafe Mortel" in London in 2004.
The idea is to bring people together in an informal setting to discuss death and dying.
Death Cafe is not a replacement for bereavement therapy or formal advice on personal situations. However, it can be a helpful way to resource information about the process of death and dying in a non clinical and non-confrontational environment.
Doula Jo Centre aims to bring about awareness and spark healthy conversation around death so that people may live life more fully and less afraid of death.
I aim to demystify the topic of death and allow people the space to feel more comfortable broaching the subject.
Death Cafe is a not-for-profit event and comes with no cost to the community.
Come sit and have a cuppa and a yarn here at the temple. The kettle will be on.
