The WA Gould League is hitting the road and bringing a regional STEM roadshow to Geraldton! This inspiring science event has been designed to encourage young people living in regional and remote WA areas to pursue a career in STEM and citizen science.

This free event suits all ages and there are self-guided activities as well as talks to attend:

Self-guided Activities:

Explore our hands-on STEM stations on "How to Build an Insect hotel from recycled materials", "Create a Felt Insect", "Amazing Microscopes", "Nature Journaling" and find information from local STEM or citizen science projects you can get involved in.

Citizen science talks and Q&A Times:

Listen to invited speakers from TAFE and local citizen science projects to hear about past and current projects and how YOU can engage in meaningful citizen science. Learn about useful technology such as identification apps and stay to ‘Ask the Experts’ questions.

Have you found a natural subject you want help identifying? Bring a photo of it (or the object itself if safe) and let's work together to identify it! Learn how to use iNaturalist or related apps to identify your local flora and fauna and how scientists use the power of citizen science in their research.

Women in STEM talks and Q&A Times:

Be inspired by women in STEM (including WA Gould League) who will share their stories, showcasing how you can follow their footsteps to enter STEM careers. Ask them your burning questions during the panel Q&A session.

This is a free event, however registrations are essential. Please book on the WA Gould League website. Tickets are limited!

DATE: Saturday 26th July, 9:30am-1:00pm
VENUE: Geraldton Multipurpose Centre, 250 Marine Terrace, Geraldton, WA 6530.

This project has been made possible thanks to sponsorship from Inspiring Australia WA.
