Join local artist Rachel Rothberg (they/them) for an afternoon of birding and sketching in the neighborhood. Start by observing birds on a short walk in Maritime Heritage Park, then shift gears into a bird anatomy and drawing lesson with taxidermy references from the John M. Edson Hall of Birds Collection. No prior experience with birding or drawing necessary, but bring your own binoculars if you have a pair! Class registration fees include admission the museum and supplies so you can continue your sketches at home.
Rachel Rothberg is an oil painter, tattoo artist, and lifelong birder living in Bellingham. Rachel approaches birds as individuals with curiosity and empathy, and explores interconnectivity within our local environments at a global turning point for ecological conservation.
