Acoustic grunge/ metal, alt-folk, and blues punk comes to Iron Pier at St Andrews Arts, Gravesend courtesy of three left field troubadours.

Djentleman Jon

Djentleman Jon (aka Jonathan Cooper) redefines Acoustic Guitar with sludgy, rhythmic riffage reminiscent of Tool an Deftones and melodic vocals that walk the line between anguish and rage. Made the Semi Finals of Metal 2 The Masse Kent with more to come!

Mötherwitz

South London based, Mötherwitz are rooted in contemporary folk and progressive rock. Their creative composition infuses elements of sophisticated earthy harmonies behind a theatrical vocal lead. Added as a filling is a retro synth organ accompanied with an array of guitar effects pedals. Their approach is to create a folktale vibe that dithers around the subject matter of factual events.

Championed in 2021 by Mickey Bradley of the Undertones on BBC Ulster and John Kennedy of Radio X

The Slow Blade

The Slow Blade (缓刃) is the alias of Dann Gaymer (Ravages, New Age of Decay, Peachy Carnehan, Round Eye, Guiguisuisui, Nekroma, Loooooongish Cat, Daftpop Sounds), a British born artist who spent around 15 years lurking in East Asia and touring the world, having played in over 20 countries including the far reaches of Mongolia and Greenland, and released dozens of albums and EPs. The Slow Blade sound is a culmination what a strange trip it’s been so far, somewhere between early Beck and Hasil Adkins: anti-folk and blues punk, mixing in trip-hop beats and tape samples to create a backdrop for growls, howls, harmonica squeals, and a one stringed skateboard guitar (‘The Diddly Board’). It’s a wild ride with a Dartford ruffian, so get on board.
