Music in the Parks: Other Country Ensemble

Since 1892, Music in the Parks has provided residents and families opportunities to gather and enjoy local music throughout the summer. Since its inception thousands of free concerts have taken place. Concerts are weekly and vary from classic rock, hip hop, international, funk and many more genres of music.
This week at the Lake Harriet Bandshell we are hosting Other Country Ensemble, an international music group. "OCE features veteran musicians from the Twin Cities - perhaps you recognize a few of us. We perform traditional music from the northern Mediterranean region ranging from Spanish Sephardic to Greek and Turkish music, and original compositions inspired by the regions. We tell tales of the history of the music from 600 A.D on and the fusion of sounds that spread through the Mediterranean, as well as the instruments we perform. We typically put on a 2 hour performance and have been known to go longer. We performed at the MN State Fair in 2023 to a very large audience on the International Bazaar Stage. This past summer we received a standing ovation for an energetic performance at the Walker Ethnic Festival. We recently performed at Big River Theatre in Alma, WI, and have upcoming theater shows in Ulen (Top Hat) and in Lanesboro (St Mane). We also host World Music Monday (WMM) series at the Fraternal Order of Eagles 34 in Minneapolis on the fourth Monday every month, featuring special guest performers." For cancellations due to weather please check our Facebook or Instagram pages for updates.
