Labor Day Cardboard Boat Regatta

Who will sail the seas of the Tillman pool from coast to coast…or end to end? It’s a fantastic way to close out a season of fun as intrepid boat-builders try to design a craft that will withstand the water and transport them the length of the pool. Some rules: no more than 50% of a boat’s surface area may be covered in duct tape. Only cardboard and duct tape may be used to build the boats. Absolutely no paint is allowed (to prevent damage to pool equipment).

Racers compete in a series of heats, with the top finishers taking home a commemorative trophy, making them the envy of the seafaring world. And if your boat is more Titanic than terrific, the best sinking award will also be presented.
