The Bodhran is the heartbeat of Irish music. It's an Irish Frame Drum played with a stick or a "tipper".
The Bodhran was the first drum I ever played when I owned my Irish gift shop back in 2000. We had weekly lessons in my shop. My friends and I later created an Irish band called 'West of Galway' and we performed at festivals all over the state.
I'd love to share this ancient Celtic Frame drum with you. We'll go how to hold the drum and tipper, basic strokes and techniques. Then we'll play a few reels, jigs and hornpipes to music.
Of course, we'll have Irish tea and soda bread.
